Frankfurt am Main in May. Temperature is slowly rising an the whole city is preparing for summer. Love is in the air. And today it's about the love between two great boys - it's about a gay wedding in the East of Frankfurt.

The Wedding Location:
A Former Nude Bar Becomes a Modern Beach Club with International Cuisine

One of the most beautiful places in Frankfurt in summer is the “Blaues Wasser” - a bar directly on the banks of the river Main. This unusual wedding location is somewhat hidden in the industrial area between Kaiserleibrücke and Hanauer Landstraße. Nevertheless, the Beach Club in Frankfurt is no longer an insider tip. It's unique combination of having the river on one side and the industrial and harbor district on the other, some leftovers from the club's past as a nudist establishment, adds to the bar's special flair.

A wedding in the "Blaues Wasser" is something special - even more when everything comes together as perfect as at the wonderful wedding of David and Basti.

Free Wedding Ceremony on the River Bank

Awesome people deserve awesome wedding ceremonies. And these two landed a real hit with their celebrant Simone Pfundstein of “Schatz wir heiraten!”.

Down at the river bank, where the beach club usually serves great cocktails in the evening sun, we listen to the entertaining story of David and Basti and hear both of them proclaiming “Yes I do!”.

Hugs, Drinks and a Wedding Cake in Rainbow Colours

With countless hugs, congratulations and a lo tears of happiness, groom and groom head over to the red bar for gin & tonic and other nice cold drinks.

David's and Basti's a wedding cake is served. And it does not only shine in all colors from the outside, but also boasts a whole rainbow on the inside.

An old trucking company, rusty railroad tracks, dusty alleys - wedding portraits are always a journey of discovery. This time it leads us through the industrial area at the Osthafen and it's bridges. In the background we see the European Central Bank and the Frankfurt's bank towers in the distance in the haze of the afternoon sun. The two boys pose bravely in the traffic on the Honsell Bridge and dance on the Schmick Bridge directly at the harbor. As I said: Love is in the air!

Back at the "Blaues Wasser" tired feet get cooled in the river. Meanwhile on the terrace the first delicious appetizers are being served and Black Angus Rib Eye and Turkey are already sizzling over the glowing charcoal and the sea bream makes its way to the tables. The food is shared on the tables, because sharing is caring. And that's the most communicative and convenient form a wedding menu can take.

Great Speeches, Funny Shows, Awesome Fireworks and a lot more Tears

The evening continues with dessert and wedding speeches. And in a silent corner it gets particularly emotional with an intimate speech of the boys' best friend - more tears of course.

Outside it's getting dark. And on the terrace, the wedding party finally gets going. The guests perform a little show and over the river we all enjoy some big wedding fireworks. And after that we're all ready to dance the night away.
