Wedding photos at the Kulturbahnhof Idstein | Getting married and celebrating in the Taunus region
Mara and Danny's wedding was one whose original planning fell victim to Corona. It was supposed to be a big deal and take place in 2020. Unfortunately, nothing came of it. Not even in 2021. So 2022 was set for the big celebration. But even that turned out to be smaller than originally planned. But that didn't affect the event at all. On the contrary. Mara and Danny celebrated a wonderfully personal and intimate wedding in Idstein - with lots of heart and DIY.
Why look for a place to get married when you can have it in your own garden? So, after getting ready at Danny's parents' house in Bermbach, the wedding took place in their garden. A lot of heart and soul went into the preparations. Benches with cushions, olive trees for decoration and a gazebo for the bride and groom and their officiant - a close friend, by the way. The summer weather played its part, creating a wonderful atmosphere and smiling faces. And there was room for a tear or two.
After the ceremony and congratulations, the guests had some time to chat and enjoy cool drinks, while the couple and the wedding photographer took the opportunity for a first small photo shoot in the garden. A beautiful white Dash Eight Benz also played its part. They then drove to the reception at the Kulturbahnhof in Idstein.
In Idstein, the team from M&K's up and smoke tour was waiting for us to fire up the grills. The Kulturbahnhof is a former goods station. After restoration it has become a beautiful industrial location with a cool bar. Mara and Danny had done the rest of the decorating themselves, turning it into a dream wedding location with thousands of fairy lights and beautiful table decorations.
There were nice speeches, some games and fantastic food. Juicy burgers and fresh salmon from the grill made for happy faces. The bride and groom and their guests had a wonderful summer party and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.
We had planned a second round of portraits in the evening light for later. The challenge was that the Kulturbahnhof is in the valley and therefore in the shade much too early to take full advantage of the evening light. The railway area next door has longer hours of sunshine, but is far too tidy for a station to provide a charming contrast for wedding photos. So, on our short walk, we ended up at the roundabout heading for the motorway - affectionately called the "gourmet roundabout" by some (perhaps only by us), perhaps because it is located between Burger King and McDonald's. The fact that there is a kitchen shop next to the roundabout comes as a surprise. The fact that there is also the kitchen shop I trust next to it probably has no influence. Directly opposite is Aareal82 - a cooking school, event location and excellent catering. What does all this have to do with Mara and Danny's wedding photos? Not much. But the light at the roundabout was great, the mood of the couple even better. And so, between Burger King, ATU and Netto, fantastic photos of the couple were taken in no time at all.
And in case the message wasn't clear, you don't need much to take great photos - just nice light and nice people.
When it was time to open the dance floor, Mara and Danny did so with their first dance. It was a great party that went on late into the night. Guests young and old danced and laughed together, and the good vibes filled the room.
Mara and Danny's wedding was different than originally planned, but still perfect. It was personal, intimate, full of heart and character. And because of the large DIY element, they appreciated it even more. Everyone will remember their wedding for a long time to come.
Perfect! We should talk!
