As a wedding photographer in Frankfurt I can tell you a lot about getting married and celebrating in this beautiful city. Affectionately known as "Mainhattan", Frankfurt am Main is not only the largest city in Hesse, but also the place where most Hessians get married. No surprise because Frankfurt is a good choice for weddings and wedding photos.

As a city of contrasts, it exerts a tremendous fascination - high-rise canyons made of glass and steel on one side, narrow streets and half-timbered houses on the other. Industrial flair alternates with Wilhelminian style villas and "Büdsche". International city and center of the banking industry and yet somehow just a village.

And in between there always flows the river Main.

Both are surprising with the fact that as a wedding location they are so completely different from what one might assume from afar. All around there are countless possibilities for wedding photos literally just waiting to be used as backdrop.

The Wedding Rooms

Both in the Römer and in the Bolongaropalast, weddings are part of the day-to-day business, i.e. civil weddings are possible there practically every day throughout the year. In the palm garden, in the Nikolauskapelle and in the town hall Seckbach weddings are only possible on selected dates - in the palm garden e.g. only on Fridays and only from May to September. You can get detailed information at the registry office of the city of Frankfurt.

As a banking capital, Frankfurt naturally has to convince with numbers. That is why here are some facts and figures about Frankfurt and getting married in this wonderful city on the river Main.

Frankfurt is green: almost 40% of the total area of more than 24,000 hectares in Frankfurt is parks, gardens or forest.
Frankfurt is pleasant: From June to August Frankfurt has an average of 20-21 °C - not too warm and not too cold, perfect for weddings.
With around 750,000 inhabitants, Frankfurt is smaller than Berlin, Hamburg and even Cologne, but Frankfurt is still growing.
With over 3,000 weddings per year, Frankfurters are also proportionally more willing to marry.
A large number of wedding guests can be accommodated in around 60,000 beds.
With over 70 million passengers per year, Frankfurt Airport is the largest in the republic and an ideal destination for your international wedding guests or an Elopement in Germany.
Last but not least, Frankfurt has a hell of a lot of wedding photographers and therefore you'll definitely find the right photographer for your wedding here.
