A Wedding in the Uckermark Old Estates and Sunshine, Dogs and Donkeys, Vintagelooks and Gourmet Foods
"Uckermark? Where's that?" With that question everything began. And what should I say? It was well worth finding out!
In fact the first thing I really did when this couple from Berlin contacted me was checking google maps for the location of Gutshof Wilsickow. I found it somewhere in the northeast of Germany, behind Berlin and not far from the Baltic Sea. And the Uckermark soon turned out to be a beautiful region and a great place to celebrate a wedding.
We started on friday with a warming-up party in the old granary - with fondue, drinks, music and people chatting until late at night. By the way that place is a location that makes every vintage-lover's heart jump.;) Saturday began with Caro getting ready in the historic house. On the walls were antlers and old family photos in frames, beneath our feet a German dachshund and in the middle of everything a nervous bride, sorrow-strickenly checking her weather-app. Luckily she had no reason to worry. The wedding ceremony was held only a few miles away at the old church of St. Marien in Strasburg and it had lots of very emotional moments. With a short detour to a local lake we returned for the reception at Wilsickow where every sign of bad weather had vanished. So portraits were an easy job, just having a walk around the estate, accompanied by Caro's and Albi's old dog, a beer and two very curious donkeys. The photos sort of just "happend" along the way. For dinner and party everybody reunited under a marquee - with candlelight, finest food, great drinks, good talks and a bustling dancefloor.
